• Bacterial Cell Wall Lysis: Chlorhexidine digluconate carries a strong positive ionic charge (cationic) that binds to the negatively charged cell walls of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. This increases cell wall permeability, resulting in intracellular leakage, cell lysis, and microbial destruction.
• Adsorption & Plaque Matrix Blockade: The chlorhex gel adsorbs onto salivary pellicles, hydroxyapatite tooth enamel, and oral mucosa. By occupying bacterial binding sites and preventing salivary glycoprotein agglutination, it blocks new dental plaque biofilm formation for up to 12 hours.

Ingredients:

• Active Ingredient: Chlorhexidine Digluconate 1% w/w (equivalent to 10mg/g).
• Excipients & Gel Base: Hydroxypropylcellulose, Isopropyl Alcohol, Macrogolglycerol Hydroxystearate, Peppermint Oil, Purified Water.

How to Use:

• For Gum Disease / Gingivitis Treatment:

  • Brush teeth twice daily with corsodyl dental gel 50g. Apply approximately 2cm of gel onto a toothbrush and brush thoroughly for 1 minute.

  • Important Timing: Use the gel at a separate time from standard toothpastes, or rinse your mouth thoroughly with water between brushing and applying the gel. Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) and anionic ingredients in regular toothpastes can deactivate chlorhexidine.

  • Duration: Continue treatment for approximately 1 month or as directed by your dentist.

• For Localized Gum Inflammation, Mouth Ulcers, or Denture Sore Spots:

  • Apply corsodyl gel directly to the affected inflamed gums or lesions twice daily using a clean fingertip or cotton bud. Leave on for at least 1 minute before spitting out excess.

  • For denture stomatitis, cleanse dentures thoroughly and coat the fitting surface with gel before inserting twice daily for 14 days.

• Post-Surgical Oral Care: Apply directly as directed by your dental surgeon to protect surgical wounds and sutures.
