Product Description

Wind Eze Gel Capsules Gentle Action – 20 Capsules

Wind-Eze Gel Caps are soft gel capsules containing simeticone 125mg (activated dimeticone), an anti-flatulence medicine used to relieve the stomach pain and bloating caused by trapped wind. Each peppermint-flavoured capsule is swallowed with water, and the pack contains 20 capsules. They are for adults and children aged 12 and over.

Windeze gel caps work by dispersing the tiny bubbles of trapped wind, so they are a targeted wind relief capsule rather than an antacid or a laxative. You take one capsule with water 3 or 4 times a day, after meals and at bedtime if needed. If your symptoms last more than 14 days or get worse, see a doctor.

Key Features

  • Simeticone 125mg in every capsule: an anti-foaming, anti-flatulence active ingredient (activated dimeticone).
  • Made for trapped wind: for stomach pain and bloating due to trapped wind.
  • Simple dose: 1 capsule with a drink of water, 3 or 4 times daily after meals and at bedtime as needed.
  • For adults and children aged 12 and over, in a pack of 20 capsules.
  • Swallowed with water, not chewed, in a peppermint-flavoured capsule.

How Wind-Eze Gel Caps Work

Simeticone is an anti-foaming agent. It changes the surface tension of the small gas bubbles in the gut, so they join together into larger bubbles that are easier to release, for example by burping or passing wind. Wind-Eze describes this as gently dispersing the tiny bubbles of trapped wind.

Simeticone acts in the gut and is not absorbed into the bloodstream. Used as directed, the capsules help relieve the stomach pain and bloating that trapped wind causes. Results vary from person to person.

Ingredients

  • Active ingredient (per capsule): simeticone 125mg (activated dimeticone).
  • Other ingredients: gelatin, glycerol, titanium dioxide (E171), purified water.
  • Pack: Wind-Eze Gel Caps, 20 soft gel capsules.
  • Note: contains glycerol, which can be harmful in high doses (it can cause headache, stomach upset and diarrhoea).

How to Use

  1. Swallow 1 capsule with a drink of water, 3 or 4 times daily, after meals and at bedtime as needed.
  2. That is up to 4 capsules in 24 hours. Do not take more than the recommended amount.
  3. For adults and children aged 12 and over only. Not for children under 12.
  4. If symptoms last more than 14 days, or if they get worse, see your doctor.
  5. Store below 25°C. Keep out of the sight and reach of children, and do not use after the expiry date on the pack.

Do not take Wind-Eze Gel Caps if you:

  • are allergic to simeticone or any of the other ingredients
  • use mineral oil (paraffin) based laxatives
  • are under 12

Speak to your doctor or pharmacist first if you:

  • are pregnant, may be pregnant, are planning a pregnancy or are breastfeeding
  • have an underlying medical condition
  • take any other medicine or complementary therapy

If you take too many capsules, or your symptoms persist or get worse, tell your doctor or pharmacist. Stop taking them and get medical help if you have an allergic reaction, such as a rash, swelling of the face or tongue, or difficulty breathing.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Does Wind-Eze work, and what is it used for?

Wind-Eze Gel Caps are used to relieve the stomach pain and bloating caused by trapped wind. The simeticone in each capsule breaks up the tiny gas bubbles in the gut so they are easier to pass. Results vary from person to person, so see a doctor if your symptoms last more than 14 days or get worse.

2. How do you take Wind-Eze Gel Caps, and how many can you take?

Take 1 capsule with a drink of water, 3 or 4 times daily after meals and at bedtime as needed. That is a maximum of 4 capsules in 24 hours. Take one capsule at a time, and do not take more than the recommended amount.

3. How long does it take Wind-Eze to work, and how long can I take it?

Wind-Eze does not state a time to work, so take it as directed and give it time. If your symptoms last longer than 14 days, or get worse, see a doctor and stop self-treating.

4. Who should not take Wind-Eze Gel Caps?

Do not take Wind-Eze Gel Caps if you are under 12, allergic to simeticone or any other ingredient, or use mineral oil (paraffin) based laxatives. Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice first if you are pregnant, may be pregnant or are breastfeeding. Tell them about any other medicines you take.

5. What are the side effects of Wind-Eze Gel Caps?

The capsules contain glycerol, which can cause headache, stomach upset and diarrhoea in high doses. Stay within the recommended dose. Stop taking them and get medical help if you have an allergic reaction, such as a rash, swelling of the face or tongue, or difficulty breathing.

6. Are Wind-Eze Gel Caps the same as Wind-Eze tablets?

No, they are different forms: the gel caps are swallowed whole with water, while Wind-Eze tablets are chewable. Always follow the directions on the pack of the product you have. This page covers the 20-capsule Gel Caps.
