Product Description

Blephasol Duo 100ml Lotion Daily Eyelid Cleansing

Blephasol Duo is a micellar cleansing lotion for the eyelids and eyelashes, made by Théa Pharmaceuticals and supplied as a 100ml bottle with 100 lint-free pads. It is designed for daily lid hygiene, lifting away oily debris, dried secretions, crusts and eye make-up from the lash bases, and it does not need rinsing off. The lotion is non-greasy and free from perfume, soap and alcohol. Unlike the standard Blephasol lotion, the Duo pack includes the pads in the box.

You put a small amount of lotion on a pad, close your eye and wipe along the eyelid and lash roots, massaging gently in small circles. It is used twice a day on average, in the morning and evening, or whenever you choose to cleanse your lids. It is for external use, so keep it out of the eye itself. If you have eye pain, a change in vision or very red eyes, stop and see an optician or GP.

How Blephasol Duo Works

Micelles are tiny clusters of cleansing molecules that attach to oil and dirt, which allows them to be wiped away from the skin without harsh rubbing. The edges of the eyelids often collect oils, dead skin and make-up residue, and this build-up can leave lids feeling crusty, sore or gritty.

Blephasol Duo uses a micellar formula to loosen and lift this build-up from the lid margins when you massage it in with a pad. It is a cleanser, not a medicine. It supports a daily eyelid hygiene routine, which is the part of blepharitis care that is usually advised on a long-term basis, and it does not cure blepharitis.

How to Use

  1. Wash your hands. Remove contact lenses if you wear them.
  2. Put a small amount of lotion on a lint-free pad, about the size of a 10p coin.
  3. With one eye closed, wipe along the upper eyelid, the lash base and the inner lid edge.
  4. Massage the lid gently in small circles to lift crusts and debris.
  5. For the lash base and inner lid edge, gently stretch the lid and use a clean pad or cotton bud dampened with lotion.
  6. Use a fresh pad for the other eye.
  7. Do not rinse.

How often: Twice a day on average, morning and evening, or as advised by your optician or healthcare professional.

Warnings: For external use only. Do not put it directly into the eye. Do not share it. Stop using it and seek advice if irritation develops. Use within 2 months of opening and do not use after the expiry date on the pack. Keep out of the reach of children.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is Blephasol Duo used for?

Blephasol Duo is a lotion and pad set for daily eyelid and lash cleansing. It removes oily debris, crusts, dried secretions and eye make-up, and is often used by people who need regular lid hygiene, including those with blepharitis.

2. How do I use Blephasol Duo?

Put a small amount of lotion on a lint-free pad, close your eye and wipe along the eyelid and lash roots in small circles. Use a fresh pad for each eye and do not rinse. Wash your hands first.

3. What is the difference between Blephasol and Blephasol Duo?

Both use the same cleansing lotion. The Duo pack includes 100 lint-free pads, so everything you need is in one box. The standard Blephasol is the lotion on its own.

4. How often can I use Blephasol Duo?

Twice a day on average, morning and evening, or whenever you choose to cleanse. Follow your optician’s or healthcare professional’s advice if they have suggested a different routine.

5. Is Blephasol just micellar water, and is it good for blepharitis?

It is a micellar-based cleanser made for the eyelids, but it is not the same as a general micellar water for the face. It supports daily lid hygiene, which is a standard part of blepharitis care. It does not cure blepharitis, so if symptoms persist see your optician or GP.

6. How long does a bottle last, and is it suitable for contact lens wearers?

Use the lotion within 2 months of opening. The manufacturer’s retailer describes it as suitable for contact lens wearers. Take lenses out before cleansing your lids and follow your optician’s advice on when to put them back in.
