Dermal Doublebase Dayleve Hydrating Gel 500g & 100g
Doublebase Dayleve Gel is a highly moisturising, leave-on emollient gel for dry or chapped skin, including eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis, ichthyosis and itchy skin in older people. It contains 15% isopropyl myristate and 15% liquid paraffin, with glycerol in a white, fragrance-free gel base, and it softens the skin, helps protect it and helps prevent drying from washing. It is made by Dermal Laboratories, comes as a 100g tube or a 500g pump bottle, and is suitable for all age groups, including babies.
You apply it morning and night, or as often as needed, smoothing it on in the direction of hair growth without rubbing hard. It can be used before and after washing, showering or bathing, and alongside other treatments if you apply them alternately. Emollients containing paraffin can build up on clothing, bedding and dressings and are a serious fire risk, so never smoke or go near naked flames after using the gel. Doublebase Dayleve Gel is a pharmacy medicine, so it is supplied under the supervision of a pharmacist.

How Doublebase Dayleve Gel Works
Doublebase Dayleve Gel is an emollient, which means it softens the skin and forms a protective layer over its surface. The isopropyl myristate and liquid paraffin help hold moisture in the top layer of the skin and reduce water loss, and the glycerol helps draw moisture into the skin.
Dry skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis tend to flare when the skin dries out, so a daily emollient is a key part of managing them. It does not treat inflammation or infection on its own, and it can be used alongside other treatments your doctor or pharmacist has recommended.
Ingredients
Active ingredients: Isopropyl myristate 15% w/w, liquid paraffin 15% w/w.
Other ingredients: Glycerol, povidone, carbomer, sorbitan laurate, trolamine, phenoxyethanol, purified water.
Do not use it if you are allergic to isopropyl myristate, liquid paraffin or any of the other ingredients.
How to Use
- Wash and dry your hands.
- For the 500g pump, turn the pump top anti-clockwise to unlock it, then press several times to prime it before first use.
- Apply the gel to the affected areas in gentle strokes in the direction of hair growth. Do not rub vigorously.
- Apply morning and night, or as often as needed.
- You can use it before and after washing, showering or bathing.
- If you are using another treatment on the same area, apply the treatments alternately and allow time for each to soak in.
- After use, lock the pump by turning it clockwise, or replace the cap on the tube.
Fire warning: Do not smoke or go near naked flames. Clothing, bedding and dressings that come into contact with the gel burn more easily and are a serious fire hazard. Washing may reduce build-up but does not fully remove it.
Storage: Keep out of the sight and reach of children. Do not store above 25°C and do not freeze. Do not use after the expiry date.
Before you use it: For external use on the skin only. Stop using it and speak to a healthcare professional if your skin condition gets worse or you have a reaction. If swallowed, the oily ingredients may cause diarrhoea, so drink plenty of water and do not make yourself sick. Side effects can be reported through the Yellow Card Scheme.
