Product Description

Buy Sudocrem Antiseptic Healing Cream 60g For Ezcema, Sunburn & More

Sudocrem Antiseptic Healing Cream 60g is the smallest size in the range, a genuine travel size built for a change bag, handbag, gym kit or first aid box rather than a bathroom cupboard. Despite its size, it's licensed for the same eight skin conditions as the larger tubs, nappy rash, eczema, acne, cuts and grazes, minor burns, sunburn, bedsores and chilblains, so it's a practical thing to have on hand away from home rather than a scaled-down, lesser version of the cream.

It suits parents who want a backup tub specifically for the nappy bag, as well as anyone who wants a small, antiseptic multi-purpose cream for minor cuts, grazes or skin irritation while travelling, at the gym, or anywhere a full-sized tub would be impractical to carry.

Key Features:

  • Treats 8 skin conditions. The same licensed uses as the larger sizes, nappy rash, eczema, acne, cuts and grazes, minor burns, sunburn, bedsores and chilblains.
  • True travel size. Fits easily in a change bag, handbag, gym kit or first aid box.
  • Zinc oxide based antiseptic cream. Built around zinc oxide, with hypoallergenic lanolin and benzyl-based ingredients for antiseptic and mild anaesthetic action.
  • Suitable for all ages. Gentle enough to use from birth, and just as suitable for older children and adults.
  • UK's number one nappy rash cream. Trusted by parents for over 90 years.

How Sudocrem Works

Sudocrem's formula is built around a small number of active ingredients, each playing a different role in how it treats the skin.

Zinc oxide, at 15.29% w/w, is the main active ingredient and helps reduce fluid loss from the skin while supporting the skin's own barrier as it repairs. Hypoallergenic lanolin works as an emollient, softening the skin and easing dryness or irritation. Benzyl alcohol, alongside benzyl benzoate and benzyl cinnamate, gives the cream its mild local anaesthetic and antiseptic properties, helping ease discomfort as the skin heals.

Together, these ingredients create a protective, breathable barrier over the treated area, shielding it from further irritation while helping reduce redness and swelling, whether that's for nappy rash on the move, a minor graze after a fall, or sunburn picked up on holiday.

Ingredients

  • Active ingredients: Zinc oxide 15.29%, Benzyl alcohol 0.39%, Benzyl benzoate 1.02%, Benzyl cinnamate 0.15%, Lanolin (hypoallergenic) 4.02%
  • Other ingredients: Purified water, liquid paraffin, paraffin wax, beeswax, microcrystalline wax, sodium benzoate, linalyl acetate, propylene glycol, citric acid, butylated hydroxyanisole, sorbitan sesquioleate, lavender fragrance

How to Use

  1. Apply a thin layer to the affected area as often as required.
  2. Use a suitable covering where necessary, for example with nappy rash.
  3. Keep away from the eyes, nose and mouth.
  4. For external use on the skin only.
  5. This product is paraffin-based. Avoid smoking or going near naked flames, as clothing or bedding with the product dried on can catch fire easily.
  6. Keep out of the sight and reach of children when not in use.

Not suitable for: anyone with a known hypersensitivity or allergy to any of the ingredients listed above.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Is Sudocrem used for infections, or is it an antibacterial?

Sudocrem has mild antiseptic properties, but it isn't an antibiotic and shouldn't be relied on to treat an active skin infection. Its benzyl alcohol, benzyl benzoate and benzyl cinnamate content gives it antiseptic action that can help prevent minor cuts or grazes from becoming infected, but if you already have signs of infection, such as spreading redness, heat, swelling, pus or a fever, see a doctor or pharmacist rather than treating it with Sudocrem alone.

2. Can Sudocrem be used for acne, including on the back or face?

Yes, acne is one of Sudocrem's eight licensed uses, and this isn't limited to one part of the body. The usual thin-layer application applies wherever the acne is, whether that's the face or the back, keeping it away from the eyes, nose and mouth as normal. For widespread or severe acne, it's still worth getting advice from a pharmacist or doctor, since there may be more targeted treatments available.

3. Can you leave Sudocrem on overnight?

Yes, there's no restriction on leaving Sudocrem on overnight. Many people apply it before bed as part of their usual routine, for example on a nappy rash or a spot, and simply reapply the next day if needed. Just keep it away from bedding or clothing you'd be concerned about marking, and remember it's flammable once dried onto fabric.

4. Can you apply too much Sudocrem?

Using more than needed won't make it work faster, and a thin layer is all that's required. Applying a thick layer doesn't improve how well it works and just wastes product, so stick to a thin, even covering as often as the affected area needs it.

5. Is Sudocrem good for minor burns and sunburn?

Yes, minor burns and sunburn are both among Sudocrem's eight licensed uses. It's worth noting this applies to minor burns and surface-level sunburn only. Larger, deeper, or more severe burns need proper medical attention rather than an over-the-counter cream.

6. How do you apply Sudocrem to the face for acne?

Apply a thin layer directly to the affected area, keeping it well away from the eyes, nose and mouth. There's no special technique needed beyond the usual thin-layer application, though it's worth patch-testing on a small area first if you haven't used it on your face before, since facial skin can be more sensitive than the rest of the body
