Rennie Peppermint relieves symptoms through a straightforward chemical reaction rather than reducing acid production over time.
The two active ingredients, calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate, are alkaline compounds that react with the excess hydrochloric acid in the stomach. This neutralisation reaction converts the acid into water, carbon dioxide and calcium or magnesium salts, which lowers the acidity in the stomach and eases the burning or discomfort associated with heartburn, indigestion and acid reflux.
Because this reaction happens on contact, relief tends to be noticeable soon after chewing the tablet, which is why Rennie Peppermint is generally taken as needed rather than on a fixed schedule.

How to Use
- Chew or suck 2 tablets as required, ideally around 1 hour after meals and before bedtime, when heartburn is most likely to occur.
- If heartburn persists, an extra 2 tablets can be taken between these times.
- Do not take more than 10 tablets in a 24 hour period.
- Treatment should not continue for longer than 14 days without speaking to a doctor or pharmacist.
- Suitable for adults and children over 12 years old. Not recommended for children under 12.
